The Deer Valley Music Festival, home of the Utah Symphony & the Utah Opera, presents a series of events for all musical tastes from pop to classical. And while you’re waiting for your concert to begin, enjoy all that Park City and the surrounding mountains have to offer: from fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, hot air ballooning, and art galleries, to fine/casual dining (including July 9-13, the 9th annual Park City Food and Wine Classic).
Getting To Deer Valley Music Festival
Park City, Utah is a 35 minute drive from the Salt Lake International Airport. The Deer Valley Music Festival has four venues. The Deer Valley Snow Park Amphitheatre: a large, open air venue which is a short drive from the town center. Chamber music performances are at St. Mary’s Church, Temple Har Shalom, and in private homes; all a short drive or walk away from hotels.
Friday, July 11: The Music of John Williams. Perhaps the greatest film composer of all time, John Williams penned film score classics for the “Indiana Jones” movies, “E.T.,” “Superman,” “Schindler’s List,” “Jurassic Park,” and many more!
Saturday, July 12: The Music of U2. The Utah Symphony performs a tribute to one of the great rock bands.
Wednesday, July 16: Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture,” at St. Mary’s Church. Also on the program is Mendelssohn’s “Symphony Number 4” and music of Ravel, Saint Saens and Schubert.
Friday, July 18: Tchaikovsky’s “The 1812 Overture” and Gershwin’s “Rhapsody In Blue.”
Saturday, July 19: Grammy and Country Music Award winner, Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Friday, August 1: “Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time” The Utah Symphony and guest Broadway vocalists play and sing classic songs from Disney movies such as “Snow White” “Lion King” “Beauty and the Beast” and more. Enjoy film clips on a giant HD screen.
Saturday, August 2: Super Diamond, the Neil Diamond tribute band. Sing along to “Red, Red Wine” “Sweet Caroline” and many more.
Thursday-Saturday through July 27: the Broadway musical “A Chorus Line” at the Egyptian Theatre.
July 28: Free Chamber Music Concert in City Park.
July 31: Beethoven Festival Concert at Park City Community Church.
July 31: Grammy Award winning country singer Kix Brooks at the Deer Valley Resort.
July 9-13th Park City Food & Wine Classic. Winemakers, chefs and guests enjoy the creations of over 100 artisans.
August 1-3rd 45th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, Main Street. 200 artists exhibit in 12 categories. Live bands on three stages, wine and beer tents, kid’s arts area.
August 1-2nd Standup Comedy, Egyptian Theatre. Dave Goldstein and Maria Tehata are the headliners.
August 2nd Canyons Resort Free Saturday Summer Concert.
August 4th Free Monday Night Movie on the Mountain: Despicable Me. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
