2014 Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival is back in Park City, Utah once again in 2014. Having kicked off on Thursday the 16th, the festival is off to an electric start. With the festival running through until Sunday January 26th ample time remains to get down to Park City to take in some great movies! The schedule is packed with nearly 200 films on show.
The opening night of the 30th Sundance Festival was memorable and has really set the stage for the remaining 10 days of films and festivities.
Back again this year is the popular series, The Power of Story. On the 24th, the Egyptian Theatre will hold the Class of ‘94 story from 3 pm. 1994 changed the way independent films were viewed with the talent on show that year. 5 filmmakers including Gregg Arakki and Rose Troche will talk about the year and how it shaped the industry back then and the lasting effects today.
There are 19 world premieres scheduled for the festival. The One I Love, directed by Charlie McDowell is his highly anticipated first movie. Having published a book based on his highly popular Twitter account in 2012, all eyes will be on Charlie with his comedic personality and talent for not giving anything away building suspense for everyone.
“Laggies” and “They Came Together” are two other highly anticipated premieres you cannot miss. Many of the premieres are sold out already so jump on the waitlists today to make sure you do not miss out.
Food & Beverages
No festival goes without a great selection of food & drink, and this year there is plenty of options for all. Squatters, provides a great breakfast for the vegans and vegetarians out there. Water will be in ample supply at the Brita stands while Main Street will be as busy as ever with adult beverages and cuisines from all corners of the globe available.
Need a break between all of the film mania? Never fear, early festival goers are ecstatic there’s plenty of snow in the area allowing everyone to enjoy time on the slopes.
